I've always been a creative storyteller since a young age. I came from a homeschool background, and when I transitioned to UCLA, I was blown away by the resources the community offered. I devoted my creative interests to causes I cared about. In my first year, I collaborated with TikTok's DEI team to create an LGBTQ+ educational content series, developed a training program, and designed product features for TikTok's pride month campaigns.
That summer, I joined the Los Angeles Civil + Human Rights team, helping them establish LA's first discrimination enforcement arm. As their (volunteer) marketing intern, I utilized my design skills to make a change in my City and empower underrepresented communities. I realized when I get involved in my community—doors open—and change is possible.
I wanted to share my experience online giving tips on how I excelled in a large university with no friends or connections. Over four months during the pandemic, I built a social media audience of over 130,000 followers, and created several viral social media pieces that started trends themselves. I got the opportunity to network with other creators, and work with brands like TikTok, Amazon, and more.
